Rosie Howarth - Musical Director

Rosie is a professional choral conductor and vocal coach. In 2016 she graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with an MA in Choral Conducting, where she received a scholarship from the Worshipful Company of Musicians.

Rosie is the Musical Director of Rainbow Voices LGBT+ Choir in Birmingham. She has worked as a freelance conductor in South Wales, as Musical Director of Cor Bro Ogwr in Bridgend, Caerphilly Community Chorus, and Songbirds LGBT Choir. In 2019 she was one of the Artistic Directors of Hand in Hand Festival, the biggest national LGBT Choir Festival in the UK, and is a patron of South Wales Gay Men’s Chorus.

As a choral singer, Rosie sang with BBC National Chorus of Wales for over 10 years, including two years as a student scholar. With the chorus, she has performed regularly at the Royal Albert Hall for the Proms, as well as St David’s Hall, Bridgewater Hall and many other distinguished venues across the country. She has also appeared on BBC television and radio. In Cardiff, Rosie sang with several local choirs, such as the RWCMD Chamber Choir, Newnam Hall Catholic Chaplaincy and Llandaff Cathedral.

Jan Rautio - Accompanist

Jan Rautio is a pianist, conductor and composer. He studied at the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music.
As a pianist and conductor he has performed across the UK, Europe and the USA. His highlights include Wigmore Hall and the Royal Festival Hall in London; Palazzo Pamphili and Palazzo Borghese in Rome; the Yusupov Palace in St Petersburg; Steinway Hall in New York, and other venues, usual and unusual. He has given numerous live broadcasts on BBC Radio 3.
Together with the Rautio Piano Trio, Jan made a number of recordings for the “Resonus” label, including trios by Mozart and Beethoven, and sonatas for violin and piano by Gabriel Faure.
In March 2017 Jan was made an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music, awarded to former students “who have made a significant contribution to the music profession”.
Jan is the Music Director of London’s “Diversity” choir. With them he appeared on stages such as Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Munich’s Philharmonie am Gasteig.
His most recent composition, String Quartet No.1 was premiered in October 2024.
In recent years, Jan has ventured into the world of opera. He worked as MD with Nadine Benjamin on her production of “BEAM” in 2021 in Snape Maltings, and conducted two productions by the Pegasus Opera Company, in 2021 and 2022.
